A restaurant supervisor’s job description includes overseeing daily operations, managing and training staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining food quality and safety standards. Key duties involve managing inventory and supplies, handling customer complaints, creating staff schedules, and ensuring the restaurant is profitable and compliant with health regulations. .

Responsibilities:

  • Staff management:

Hiring, training, and scheduling employees; supervising performance and providing feedback; and ensuring staff follows company standards.

  • Customer service:

Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction; responding to and resolving customer complaints tactfully and professionally.

  • Operations and quality control:

Overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth service; monitoring food and beverage quality; and ensuring cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.

  • Inventory and supply management:

Monitoring stock levels, ordering new supplies, and managing inventory to prevent waste and control costs.

  • Compliance and reporting:

Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Preparing daily, weekly, or monthly reports for management.

  • Financial oversight:

Managing cash flow, monitoring costs, and contributing to profitability goals.

 

Required qualifications / Experience

-Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

-Food safety and hygiene certification (e.g., HACCP) is an advantage.

-Excellent command of English (additional languages are an asset).

2–4 years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant or F&B department.

-Proven experience in team supervision, customer service, and daily operations management.

-Hands-on experience with POS systems, reservations, and cash handling.

-Background in training staff, inventory control, and quality assurance.
