The Credit Controller oversees all outstanding debts owed to a company by existing customers and manages new credit requests. They are responsible for managing the accounts receivable ledger and ensuring the timely payment of outstanding invoices.
Key duties include conducting credit checks on new customers, resolving issues related to invoice payments, and reconciling complex accounts at the end of each month.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess customer credit limits and creditworthiness.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and manage the credit control cycle.
• Communicate with customers regarding overdue payments and resolve any billing or payment disputes.
• Manage credit accounts in accordance with the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments on collection matters and customer service issues.
• Record expenses and receipts to ensure accurate cash and bank account reconciliation.
• Prepare and maintain the debtors’ list (Accounts Receivable reports).
• Prepare and process bank deposits.
• Perform cash counts and reconcile cash balances.
• Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
• Prepare reports and documentation for Trade Credit Insurance and Factoring services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Good command of both Greek and English, written and spoken.
• Basic to good knowledge of ERP systems will be considered an advantage.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily tasks accurately and responsibly.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a commercial and financial environment.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments.
