DESIGN ENGINEER or DESIGNER

A design engineer or designer develops and refines new and existing products and systems by creating designs, building prototypes, and testing functionality. They use scientific principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software to create blueprints and models, collaborating with other teams to ensure products are functional, safe, and meet project requirements and industry standards. Key duties include research, project management, and documenting designs for manufacturing.
We are seeking a young, motivated Design Engineer or Designer to join our Design Department and support the delivery of high-quality system designs across Cyprus, Greece, Emirates. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who is passionate about technology, design, and innovation — with the goal of developing into a future Design Team Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Design new engineering products and processes
- Craft models and drawings of products using CAD
- Analyze prototype data and retest if needed
- Research new product ideas and methods
- Improve existing products and processes
- Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards
- Maintain accurate records
- Ensure products are user- and environment-friendly
- Write detailed reports
- Find creative design solutions to problems
- Present prototypes and designs to customers and project managers
Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field design engineering is standard.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (like CAD), a strong foundation in engineering principles, and an understanding of manufacturing processes are crucial.
Experience: Hands-on experience is vital, often gained through internships, apprenticeships, or cooperative programs.
Soft Skills: Communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and project management skills are important for collaborating with others and ensuring project success.
Designer Requirements
Education: While not always as strictly defined as for engineers, a degree in a design field is often preferred, such as industrial design or graphic design.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with design software is a must. This can include software for 2D, 3D, or other specific design applications depending on the role.
Creative Skills: A strong creative vision, innovative thinking, and the ability to develop new ideas are core requirements.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are key. A designer must be able to effectively communicate their ideas and work with other team members.
Market Awareness: An understanding of current trends and market demands is often necessary to create relevant and successful designs.
Problem-Solving: Both engineers and designers need to be able to identify and solve problems in their respective fields.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach is necessary to ensure the accuracy and quality of the final product or design.
Communication: Both roles require excellent written and oral communication skills to explain ideas and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Adaptability: The ability to adapt to new technologies, software, and project requirements is valuable in both professions.

- 1700€ -2.200€ Gross salary (based on previous experience)
