- Job Purpose
Manages and develops all aspects of the logistics, warehousing and order fulfillment for supply
chain and customer orders
- Responsible for developing and implementing necessary process improvements at the 3PL level to facilitate optimum costs and on-time customer deliveries
- To safeguard the company from financial or goodwill losses
- Principal Accountabilities
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
- Maintain a list of prospective warehouses to meet specific ad hoc project needs
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Ensure correct pricing and billing
- Ensure smooth flow of information and goods
- Ensure optimum productivity
- Maintain productive relationships with all departments
- Handle customer complaints and their escalation, whenever necessary
- Fully comply with the company’s Health and Safety regulations and procedures
- Ensure all team members and visitors fully comply with the company’s Health and Safety regulations and procedures
- Main duties
- Manage the department’s day to day operations
- Container unloading and loading
- Confirm that all agreed rates are correctly maintained in Mantis. Take corrective action wherever necessary
- Ensure all 3PL related data is entered correctly in Mantis (logistics software) on a daily basis
- Carry out visual inspection prior to loading and take any necessary actions
- Correctly setup and maintain and bill clients in Mantis
- Ensure correct completion cargo receipt details
- Handle all correspondence with clients/subcontractors and/or agents and take necessary actions
- Develop optimum synergies with Transport and Warehouse managers to ensure maximum cost and operational effectiveness
- Prepare quotations for 3PL services
- Ensure all project deadlines are met
- Perform cost analysis of all 3PL services for all clients at set intervals
- Take ownership and resolve client issues
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system (Annual stock taking)
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
- Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts
- Inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement and calibrations
- Ensure all staff certifications are up to date
- Ensure all warehouse staff complies with all health and safety regulations
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to by all visitors to the warehouse
- Confirm that all invoices issued by subcontractors are issued and based on the agreed rates. Take corrective action wherever necessary
- Submit to Accounts Department all invoices and/or credit notes
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly as defined by Management
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Prepare annual budget
- Contribute to general tariff preparation
- Follow and practice all company procedures as required
- Liaise with sales and marketing and contribute to business development
- Travel to customer or other third-party stakeholder premises as required by the company’s needs
- Assist in any other activities necessary for the smooth operation of the department and the company in general
Job Challenge
- Ensure that all 3PL customers have a seamless experience and build productive relationships with all other departments
- Build strong relationships with all client logistics officers and owners
- Analyze the department’s revenue and expenditure to ensure maximum profitability

- At least two years of experience in a similar position
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

- Planning and organizing skills
- In depth understanding of the industry
- A high level of computer literacy
- University degree
